What Is
Soda Blasting?
Soda blasting is a process where a surface, coated in paint or any other
kind of coating is stripped away from a substrate cleanly, and more
importantly, efficiently. While it is similiar to classic sand blasting,
soda blasting carries the unique benefit of cleaning the surface without the
potential to harm the substrate or the environment.
Using the latest technology, soda blasting is becoming the most effective
and safe way to strip unwanted paint and clean almost any surface. The soda
blasting machine uses compressed air to deliver bicarbonate of soda based
media (baking soda) onto the surface to be cleaned. Unlike sand, soda
blasting is much kinder and gentler to the underlying surface and to the
environment. The process is gentle enough to remove the coating without
warping or deteriorating the substrate. Virtually any coating can be removed
from virtually any surface. Soda blast media is FDA approved, non-toxic, and
contains no free silica. It is non-sparking, non-flammable, and
non-hazardous. One of the most important things to remember is it safe for
the environment as well.
Soda blasting works well for: stripping of cars, trucks, trailers,
containers, heavy equipment, graffiti, surface rust, stains, grease, oil,
wood, masonry, monuments, engine parts, fiberglass, aluminum, stainless
steel, and boats.
