Twisted Customs Soda Blasting

In the past, the only way you could remove paint or some other unsightly material from a contaminated surface, was to either chip it off, sand blast it, use harsh chemicals, or sand it until your arm fell off, or your equipment failed. In most cases, after these time consuming, or hazardous methods are discarded, the final solution was just to paint over the imperfections and hope no one noticed. Twisted Customs does not want this scenario to happen to you, that is why we are one of the only restoration shops in the northwest with our own in house soda blasting booth. The difference between soda blasting and sand blasting is noticeable, so read below for more information on just what soda blasting is.

What Is Soda Blasting?

Soda blasting is a process where a surface, coated in paint or any other kind of coating is stripped away from a substrate cleanly, and more importantly, efficiently. While it is similiar to classic sand blasting, soda blasting carries the unique benefit of cleaning the surface without the potential to harm the substrate or the environment.

Using the latest technology, soda blasting is becoming the most effective and safe way to strip unwanted paint and clean almost any surface. The soda blasting machine uses compressed air to deliver bicarbonate of soda based media (baking soda) onto the surface to be cleaned. Unlike sand, soda blasting is much kinder and gentler to the underlying surface and to the environment. The process is gentle enough to remove the coating without warping or deteriorating the substrate. Virtually any coating can be removed from virtually any surface. Soda blast media is FDA approved, non-toxic, and contains no free silica. It is non-sparking, non-flammable, and non-hazardous. One of the most important things to remember is it safe for the environment as well.

Soda blasting works well for: stripping of cars, trucks, trailers, containers, heavy equipment, graffiti, surface rust, stains, grease, oil, wood, masonry, monuments, engine parts, fiberglass, aluminum, stainless steel, and boats.

Twisted Customs can handle all of your soda blasting needs, whatever they may be. Call, or stop in today for a free consultation. Check the Rates page for pricing.
